An **agent** is any in-game entity directly controlled by a player. ##### Characters A **character**, also referred to as a **primary character**, **player character**, or **PC**, is any creature which is controlled by a player. Players may create as many characters as they like, however they usually only control one character at a time. This is referred to as the primary character, or PC. If a player wishes to play multiple characters simultaneously, then the player selects which character will serve as their primary character, and treats their other characters as henchmen. The maximum number of henchmen who may join the primary character on an adventure is determined by the attributes of the primary character. ##### Vessels Vessels are large vehicles that require a crew to operate. Players may own as many vessels as they can afford, but will often only command one vessel at a time. Players have the option of jointly operating a single vessel, or each captaining separate vessels. If a player wishes to command a convoy, then the player chooses a vessel to act as their flagship vessel, which is accompanied by auxiliary vessels. If an auxiliary vessel is captained by a character or a henchmen, this auxiliary vessel is automatically treated as an escort vessel. A convoy’s maximum size is determined by the attributes of the flagship vessel. ##### Domains Domains are settlements, civilisations, or other united communities which have uncontested control of at least 1 strategic hex. Players may establish as many domains as they can afford, however it is common for a table of players to collectively lead a single domain, which is centred around the strategic hex containing their capital. A domain may expand to include an empire by assuming control of additional territory and vassal states. An empire’s maximum size is determined by the domain’s attributes.
